Green Ray LED announces joint venture with IUSA, a large Mexican electric component manufacturer and supplier.
SANTA ROSA, California (Aug 2, 2010) — Green Ray LED, a leader in LED lighting applications, announced the signing of a joint venture with Mexico based IUSA Group, a giant manufacturer and supplier of electrical components with a presence in over 40 countries across five continents. The joint venture will manufacture LED lighting applications including bulbs, linear lamps, street lights and parking lights, targeting initially the Mexican market with plans to expand into Central America and the Caribbean. The new company will be named IUSA Green Ray.
Green Ray had been looking for a Mexican based manufacturer to complement its existing manufacturing facilities located in Shenzhen, China. IUSA’s reputation as a premier manufacturer with huge brand recognition in the Mexican market makes it a perfect partner for Green Ray’s Central American expansion.
The Mexican lighting market has radically changing in recent years largely due to the expanded use of efficient lighting technologies. An increasing number of street lighting retrofit projects as well as the growing corporate willingness to invest in energy saving technology are manifestations of this change. IUSA Green Ray LED see these change as a huge opportunity.
LED street lights and other applications will be manufactured in the Pasteje facilities, near Mexico City, generating jobs using leading edge LED technology provided by Green Ray LED. The reduction in the costs associated with importing the lights will make LEDs accessible to a large cross segment of the Mexican business community.
